If you could speak as our planet, what would you say to us all?
Dear Humans Love Earth changes the conversation on climate change, by indulging a casual dialogue between our planet and our species.
Through this conceit, Earth takes its best shot at reaching us in ways we can recognize and understand, expressing needs, hopes, desires, aggravations, disappointments, humor, irony, and fair warnings in the face of existential climate upheaval.
Although it may speak in tough love, hard truths, and contradictions, Dear Humans Love Earth remains wholly life-affirming in spirit. We think it’s best to have some fun while directing consciousness towards a gravely serious matter. It’s only human.
Dear Humans Love Earth (and Dear Earth Love Humans) is the first initiative of Ad Clima’s Deloha project, giving voice to Earth.
THE DELOHA PROJECT
Deloha means “giving voice to Earth” or “give your voice to Earth.”
We made it up, but that’s how good things start.
Deloha rewards us as virtue when we stand for our planet, affirming personal and collective responsibility for bringing our human cravings and excesses into check. It is a turn away from helplessness, hopelessness, and nihilism towards personal agency and active caring for the planet that is our substrate.
Deloha can be as much about “speaking Earth to power” as about the quieter signals we send every day to those around us, in favor of our planet home.
Deloha asks each of us in this crucial moment to openly carry a message that continued climate livability matters to us right now, in this lifetime, as much as for future generations of all life on Earth. Deloha is the steady vote of one more voice – yours – to restabilize our climate at any cost.
AD CLIMA
Ad Clima is Latin for on climate or towards climate. Latin is extinct, but not yet humans.
We are creating “agency for everyone,” providing ways to connect more directly with the hard realities of our mounting climate chaos.
Our focus is on non-threatening and relatable communication, helping to shepherd a cultural shift in our collective awareness towards a climate we can all live with. Engage us for creative support on your own climate communications and campaigns.
